Within Every Woman is a Goddess!
Goddess Archetype Workshop

This will be an ongoing gathering.
We will use the time to gather and discuss the Goddess Archetype
chosen the month before and how it works in our own personal lives.

For the month prior to the gathering, each participant will study the
Goddess mythology of the chosen Goddess. Meditating and keeping a
journal with the information found, they will see how this Goddess fits
into their lives, where She is working already, and where she can assist
in a more positive form, and other messages that She will share about
what She represents. Pictures that represent the energy and the
teachings of that Goddess will be gathered during the month to arrange
into a collage that will contain the meaning of that Archetype for the
participant. These pictures can be taken from magazines, printed from
the internet or even personal pictures, anything that represents what is
learned about Her.

We will gather in sacred space, do a guided meditation to connect with
the Goddess Archetype, and then discuss what we each have found. We
will share our stories and learn from each other, deepening our
connection to the lessons of the Goddess. We will then arrange our
pictures into a collage and then write a synopsis of our journey with the
Goddess that previous month. This can be an essay or a poem,
something personal for your Goddess notebook but will retain the
essence of what you have learned from your journey of that month.

In this way, we invoke the Goddess energies into our lives and begin to
see how She enriches our life experiences!

This is open to any Woman who wants to develop a deeper connection
to the Divine Feminine. You do not have to belong to a Goddess
Religion to do this. It is more about recognizing your own inner divinity
and allowing this to shine through into your daily life.

*An archetype (arkitaip) is a universally understood symbol or term or
pattern of behavior, a prototype upon which others are copied,
patterned, or emulated. Archetypes are often used in myths and
storytelling across different cultures. (from Wikipedia)*
May 12, 2012 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm

At our May gathering, we will be studying Pele.
In the Hawaiian religion, Pele (pronounced PAY-
lay) is the goddess of fire, lightning, wind, and
volcanoes. She is a popular figure in many stories
of ancient Hawaii known as Hawaiian mythology.
Ka wahine ʻai honua ("the    earth-eating woman")
is an epithet for the goddess.

June 9, 2012 from 2L00 pm to 5:00 pm

At our June gathering, we will be working with
Oshun.  Oshun represents the things that make
life worth living.  She's another all-go Yoruba
Goddess with many different aspects to her
character. She can turn from curing the sick and
promoting fertility to being the Goddess of Luxury
and Love.  Oshun delights in the creation of
beauty and art, sensual delights and self-
adornment. Her symbols are mirrors, jewelry,
honey, golden silks and feather fans. Creativity in
decorating home and temple is a way of honoring
Oshun, who will bless any beautiful space
created in Her honor.
